ABOUT GENE DEUTSCHER Mr. Deutscher’s career in healthcare
commenced in 1968 subsequent to his graduation from Duke University and
his discharge from the United States Marine Corps as a Captain after
three years of active duty including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Several
years of “apprenticeship” at the New York City Health and Hospitals
Corporation followed which prompted his entering the hospital
administration graduate program at Columbia University in New York
City, graduating in 1973. In 1975, he completed a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Fellowship at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Career opportunities have included the Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System, Humana, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Tarrant County Hospital District (TX) and numerous consultative engagements including the Sid W. Richardson Foundation, Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Deutscher is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Texas Hospital Association, the Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals and the Dallas-Ft. Worth Hospital Council. He is the recipient of the 2011 Regents Award of tje American College of Health Care Executives. SAEPE
